What is better a mini-laptop or a normal laptop?

Hey guys, I'm looking for a new laptop. But the mini-laptops seem to be cheaper than normal laptops. I use my computer almost every day and do msn and everything. I download quite a lot. So I need to know what my needs suite. So please all I know which is better, a mini-laptop or a normal laptop?
