Three questions: Does this same method apply to the Compaq Presario F500? Will I be able to get a new memory module for say and model of Compaq Presario and it work? Will this increase my RAM Memory or my Hard-drive Memory? Help would be greatly appriciated.

  2. HelmetVanga says:

@TheLunarWolf649 Firstable, this video is about increasing memory by adding a module. Keep in mind the word MEMORY, A hard disk has nothing to do with memory. A hard disk is a space where all your windows programs, programs like office and data, videos and games are stored or saved. two different animals. TO add memory look the existing module and look the specs and capacity so u can order. Most of the time u would want to double your memory.

  3. HelmetVanga says:

@TheInTzClan all u have to do is visit memory4less website, look your exisiting memory for size, DDR2, 3, etc NON ECC, etc…basically u want to buy a duplicate of your memory (module)…that is all

  4. HelmetVanga says:

@mechanicz31 why do you want to mix to begin with? do you always look for trouble like burning your motherboard?? just obey your motherboard manual, or check with your pc or laptop maker. Your memory should be identical in capacity, speed, ECC or non ECC..stay on course be conservative. Dont risk your hardware.

  5. HelmetVanga says:

@82PeRK Memory and/or adding more memory to your PC or laptop does help to run more programs or large data, it is hard to tell if it runs faster, but more memory u have your computer has more room in RAM to do work and open more windows and multitask. But the speed of a computer always come from the CPU.

  6. HelmetVanga says:

@lilmike685 yes you can do it yourself, dont be afraid..the only thing you need to be careful is grounding yourself by touching something that has metal like the video says..Also if you look the yellow screw drivers, they are precisely the same size as the the screws on this laptop, if you strip u wont be able to take the screw out then u have a problem..most laptops and notebooks on the back only have 2 types of phillip screw drivers.2 sizes.

  7. HelmetVanga says:

@Hidjdjdj look your exisiting memory module and double it and follow this video to insert it onto the socket..

    @Videowatcher198 amen

  9. HelmetVanga says:

@gingerkidwithglasses u cannt mix speeds or capacities..if u have an empty slot on your laptop, look the specs of the existing module..it should tell u capacity, speed DDR?, ecc non ecc.. just duplicate that module and insert on your slot following how it is done in this video..The vendor will ask u same questions..etc.

  10. HelmetVanga says:

@LjcHD Adobe a memory hog program but good. durplicate your memory add an identical module to your system and you are done. U wont notice the speed but the more windows u open, your computer will not lag or hang or get frozen… The speed of a computer actually comes from the CPU..plenty of ram helps though.

  12. mundayfilms says:

By upgrading my RAM what improvements will I see in my laptops performance?

  13. edgetechcorp says:

@TheLunarWolf649 The method should work the same. Go to Edge’s memory configurator to find the correct memory for your system. This will increase your RAM memory, not your hard drive (ROM) memory.

  14. edgetechcorp says:

@mundayfilms You should see an increase in overall speed of the computer by increasing the amount of RAM. Boot time should improve as well as the time it takes to launch programs and the speed at which they perform their functions.

@HelmetVanga, HD by technically speaking is a memory too. Its like a brain, RAM = Short term memory & HD is the Long term memory.

What replacement for anti-static wrist strap? I can’t understand what’s in the video on how to discharge yourself. Based on my understanding (is this right?) on that video is to hold any metal parts near your computer . How long? And also what did you said in 0:13 to 0:20? By the way I understand on how to install it.
